How much to tip hair stylist or manicurist?
Technically, are they even ';supposed'; to be tipped? I always leave a tip, but I feel very uncomfortable wondering if they think I'm being cheap.
If I get a $25 pedicure, I'll usually tip $5.
Last night, I tried to dye my hair on my own with Garnier hair dye. It was HORRIBLE. So I had to go to a salon today to have it fixed. The nice salon I usually go to wasn't open, so my only alternative was Regis. The coloring was $115. I wiped out most of what was left in my bank account (after bills). I *couldn't* leave a big tip, so I left $10. Was that too little? How much to tip hair stylist or manicurist?
no it was fine. dont worry about itHow much to tip hair stylist or manicurist?
nope ten dollars is perfect
yea thats kinda beat especially since she fixed it me and my friends try to leave between 15-20$ and don't forget to tip the girl who washes your hair a dollar or 2 but I mean if you were broke then don't feel bad next time you get your hair cut by her give her a bigger tip. It happens
no not all, because they should be lucky your tipping.
most of the hair sylist depends on tips.

I need a professional hair stylist's opinion - What would be better for me - Highlights or just a touch up?
I usually have light blond hair (think carrie underwood)- BUT - I just had a baby so I ';let myself go'; a little. Now my Dark brown roots are about an inch long and my hair looks a little yellowish (BLAH).
I just moved so the salon where I used to get a touch up and occasional ';few 'highlights is so far.
So my question is would I be better off getting a full head of blond highlights -Or - should I get my usual touch-up. (I cant afford highlights and touch up this time around) -but -Will just highlights cover my dark roots enough?)
Please help :)I need a professional hair stylist's opinion - What would be better for me - Highlights or just a touch up?
Go for the touch up. Since you have dark brown roots getting highlights will make it look worse.

Are there any professional hair stylist out there that know what they're doing?
Okay, since I wasn't really clear on my last hair question I'm gonna try this again.
I DO NOT want to go all natural, but I want to grow my hair super long, and use less heat during the process of growing it. And I know my hair is damaged so I am thinking about chopping about an inch off, so would this make my hair grow? If so how would I style my new short mid- neck length hair without heat?...any suggestions.Having curly or wavy hair would be fine too..so how would I achieve styles like that without curling irons and stuff?
Overall, after I cut it, what are good treatments or hair tips to help me grow it longer and faster? Are there any professional hair stylist out there that know what they're doing?
I don't think I answered your last question......cutting your hair doesn't make hair from your scalp grow faster....what it does is keep hair healthy so it doesn't break off. There are so many cuts for your length hair that you can do with just a dryer. It should be long layered with some long layered swept over bangs. I can picture it in my head but I don't have time right now to look anything up. It could be longer in front and somewhat wispy. If it's short enough you could maybe even just use a little light product and put it in place with your fingers. Even if you're growing it, that type of style would work, but maybe not longer in front.
If you have a professional do it I'm sure she/he would be the one to help you since they could see how your hair worksAre there any professional hair stylist out there that know what they're doing?
First of all, go to the stylist and tell her you want all split ends and hair with breakage cut off. You don't want any of the damage left on your hair otherwise it will continue to break up the shaft and ruin your hair. Then, buy some Garnier Fructis hair mask (or any reliable hair product line with a hair mask) and put it on your hair DRY, then put a shower cap on over it while taking your shower and rinse it out at the very end. This treats damaged hair, and the steam from a shower intensifies the healing process. Then, to style your hair, use mouse on curly hair-Redken mouse is fantastic! For straight hair, unfortunately, if your hair is naturally curly, you have to use heat to straighten it. Just because your hair is damaged, doesn't mean you can't use heat-you just have to protect your hair. Buy V05's heat protection spray and spray it ALL OVER while hair is damp, then use shine serums and protection spray afterwards. Also, never comb hair while there is any kind of hairspray or excessive products (glue, wax, gel) because this damages your hair. Any other questions, message me (:

Need help from a HAIR STYLIST please?
A few weeks ago, I saw a make over program where the hair stylist dyed a ladies hair from blonde to brunette...
Before he put the dye on her hair, he said that he sprayed her hair with something first in order to stop her hair from going a dingy greenish colour...
In the past I've tried to get my hair from blonde (dye job) to brunette, but have always had my hair turn icky a few days later.
Whatever this spray was....I need it! =)
Does anyone know what type of spray this was, and what its called?
Any help would be HIGHLY appreciated.
Thank-you.Need help from a HAIR STYLIST please?
I havn't seen it in a spray form, but when coloring your hair from blonde to brunette you need to ';fill'; it. Brown hair is composed of 3 colors - Yellow, Red and Blue. Blonde hair is missing the red and blue. Filling the hair is adding in the missing colors. What does yellow and blue make? Green! So, if you tried to color your hair from blonde to brown without first filling it with a red shade you would get green hair.Need help from a HAIR STYLIST please?
a spray? In my years of hair dying and cosmetology class I haven't heard of a spray to protect. Check Sallybeauty.com
Oh man, I work at a hair salon and have never heard of this before. I actually just recently went from blonde to brunette and didn't spray anything in my hair before doing so. You need to get it professionally done and that will insure that your hair won't turn a yucky color. Or have you been getting it done at a salon and it turns nasty? If that's the case, find a different salon. I really always advise against do it yourself color if you're going for a drastic change. It's okay if you're going a shade or two from your original but if you're going from blonde to brunette or vice versa, you're going to want to visit a salon.
hair serum, im sure it will do the trick.
what did your hair do a few days later? If you go from blonde to brunette that shouldnt be that hard to do unless your hair is over processed already. Whenever you dye your hair dark, dont use it a 2nd and 3rd time use something in the browns but not as dark or you may end up with a nasty black color.almay
