Professional hair stylist needed for help please?

I colored my hair back in april mocha for a base color, last week I tried high lights which doesn't look bad,but now I want to know if I was to go out and buy a hair color say like dirty blond to achieve that look, can I buy the hair color from sallys along with a developer and some quick blue and mix that together to achieve the blond look? Or should I use the quick blue first wait a couple weeks then add the hair color? I am very very confused on this matter because a friend of mine mixed quick blue with some store boughten hair color and she achieved her look which basically turned out platinum blond. This I do not what,I am looking for a dirty blond look. How do I achieve that with out a brassy look? please help.Professional hair stylist needed for help please?

I agree, if you want a certain look. Go to a professional. That's why they went to school. Especially when it comes to going blond, it's so hard to get the tone right.
